So depressing. Made me a vegetarian for a while, need to read it again.

I read this book and I've now been a vegetarian for 18 years. Did it make an impact - you could say that.

I received this book a while ago through one of the Goodreads giveaways. I feel that this book really opened up my eyes to the process of food and how as Americans we treat food. I try and lead a healthy lifestyle because of this book. It tends to be a bit saddening though to find out that most of our food is over processed and you really can't get away from how we treat and prepare our food.

This book changed the way that I think about eating and inspired me to be a vegan

I read this in high school, when I had a stronger stomach for tales of factory farming. It set my eating agenda for about 8 years after that. Now I'm back to meat. Perhaps I should read it again.

Didn't read all the way to the end.
Mixed response. Felt I had to read for Book Club, but was written in 80s and I believe science has changed some of his findings. However lots of jaw dropping detail of how we are manipulated by meat industry

John Robbins' writing style is not my favorite, but I always read his books and sort of scan the parts where he gets to wordy and mushy. The information is good, and worth having.
