I was somewhat disappointed in that this book was not a full length novel, but a shorter length novel. The style of writing is reflective of a different style of writing from a different writing time. I enjoyed the quickness of the story, but so many bad things happened in very rapid succession in this story. It seemed a bit forced for me. However, there was a “happily ever after” conclusion which gave me an “Awww” moment. It felt more like a good teen read, with a slight hint of some topics to discuss such as the racist attitudes at that time period towards Native Americans.

Book three of the series still leaves me captivated. I found myself "sitting on the edge of my seat," while reading as quickly as I could, to find out just what would take place next for Rand and Sarah. This is another quick read.

In this book the story of Sarah and Rand’s future is finally resolved. Again as with the previous story, it was an okay read for me. There were again elements of the story that were harsher then I liked. I get those elements are likely historically appropriate but they just detracted from my enjoyment of the overall story. That being said, I will keep reading to see how it all plays out in the end. The stories are super short and I do like the characters enough to see how everything turns out for them.

"A Heart's Danger" is a fictional `Journey of the Heart` novel. Book one and two of our monthly series by Colleen Coble are about young love during war time. Book three steps up the action some with a bit of suspense. Although it is a short book, it is very entertaining and is a great mid-series transition.
I would recommend this series to readers of general fiction and historical fiction.

The third installment in Colleen Coble's Journey of the Heart anthology, A Heart's Danger brings some resolution to Sarah and Rand's story. As tensions with the Sioux rise, so does the danger—not just because of the threat of war, but also because of the increasingly unhinged actions of Ben Croftner.
Overall, I enjoyed this installment—probably more than the two installments preceding it. The plot moves along at a rapid pace, and many things are resolved. I did grow a little frustrated with Rand's continual underestimation of Ben's villainy, and the end of Ben's story struck me as a bit convenient, but overall, this was a very satisfying read, and I look forward to continuing the series!
Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from Litfuse Publicity Group. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

A Heart's Danger by Colleen Coble Things get even more strange as the story continues. Ben and Jessica both want Sarah away from Rand for their own reason. Ben has a little bit of a different plan for his himself. There seems to be something going on and Sarah hear a part of the plan that Ben is talking with Jessica. She could not figure out what they are talking about. Ben wants to get back at Sarah for what she did to save a friend. He got a plan to get rid of Rand for good. Jessica finds Sarah and invites her and Amelia with her and her mother to a picnic. Sarah feels like something is up with Jessica but needs to get out of camp for a bit. There a stage while Rand is out for a few days to get wood for the fort. What do the Indians want with him? Rands see an Indian that looks like his younger brother and he does not shoot. What do they want with Sarah when they got her. Will they save Sarah and Rand or what will they do with them? A Heart's Danger is quite an adventure and Colleen put it together quite well. Will Rand and Sarah see that their love is still strong? Will Rand goes on with his wedding with Jessica? Will Ben and Jessica's plan work?
