Found this super interesting. A very powerful story of how we learnt not just so much about chimpanzees but also about humans. Jane Goodall is a pretty inspiring woman - interesting tale of her living so remotely. Some pretty heteronormative and traditional stuff at the end about how monkeys inform human behaviour and a couple of old school bits but generally was a great read.

I usually won't touch non-fiction but this book is one of my all-time favourites. I read it when I was 17 and was deeply influenced by Dr Jane Goodall's profound writing and personal accounts. I would highly recommend that everyone read this, if only for the message of empathy with animals.

Gripping. Some people live tremendously interesting lives, and this account just transports you to the nest of the silverback.
