Fun jaunt through the Marvelverse, but not one of the best things it's done.

Loved it. Great imagination at play, throwing all the ideas at the wall. Really loved the callbacks to the original Secret Wars.
My favourite image is Maestro appearing on a helicarrier adorned with giant mastodon skills, launching an army of Worldbreaker Hulks to the ground below. Awesome

For a storyline that collapses two universes into one, remarkably little happens. I hadn't read the story arcs leading up to that, so perhaps that's why it fell flat. Or, it could be that it never really leads up to the hype it generated by itself.
In this What If... style story, Doom grabs the power of the Beyonder and becomes God. He smooshes bits and parts of different multiverses to create Battle World! It reminded me of the Age of Apocalypse. Different Big Baddies get control of fiefdoms, Mr. Sinister, Captain Britain, Apocalypse and Doom married Sue Richards. There could have been a lot done with that, and may there was with all the tie-in titles that I'm sure happened. But as a standalone, it just made me tired of all the What If... storylines.
In the end it was a meh! read.

Definitely not what I expected it to be, but a satisfying conclusion to Hickman's Avengers run.

SO AMAZING. Excited to hopefully see the MCU veer into this direction.
