Definitely different from other WWII escape stories I've heard of.

I don’t think I can praise this book enough to do it the justice it deserves. What a moving story by a brilliant man. I adore these kinds of books because they really do open your eyes to the horrific events that were lived through all over the world. To hear the different perspectives is just fascinating and I will never tire of learning more. A brilliant read from start to finish, but I wasn’t prepared for that painfully beautiful ending.

This is an incredible book. I went through many emotions while reading this. This is a real life story of Horace Greasley who was a prisoner in a Nazi camp during the war and risked his life on many occasions to not only help the lives of many others, but to see the love of his life. There were times I had to put the book down to reflect and take in what I had read because the descriptions about how the Nazi’s and the SS were treating people were horrifying. This book will stay with you for a long time and will definitely make you cry!

Not a review but an observation: before you buy this for your father-in-law just because it says WWII on the cover, know that it's a lot...pornier?...that one expects. #Stalag69
