I looooooooove me a tortured hero!! And Ronan is oh so tortured. This book gave me all the feels, at times my heart was seriously breaking from the cruelty the world has thrown at Ronan, but it made me love him all the more just to see what he survived and was still learning to overcome.
This book was pure perfection. I enjoyed it more than the first one, so I'm pretty damn excited to read book 3.
So fecking glad I found this series!!!

Rewarding Roller Coaster
Zavarelli's Reaper was a roller coaster of emotions start to finish for main character Sasha and also for me, the reader. Like any great ride, the finish was very rewarding! Sasha & Ronan certainly had their reward too. Lol.
The violence that's written about Ronan's childhood brought sadness to my core, tears dripping down my cheeks and the gore that followed his life as a Reaper for the mob, stomach curdling blech! In the name of storytelling, it earns an A+ for intrigue, driving emotions and describing characters. The story as a whole is gripping, broody and sinfully hot. Lust is not a problem for this guys. Excellent book & I'm adding Zavarelli's books to my TBR list, making notes that these books are a guaranteed great read.

I got tired of all the back and forth in this book— “I’m leaving”, “I’ll never leave”, “I’m leaving”. I guess it was really all that could be done when the story started out with the two of them already in love with each other. Where was the Soprano’s shrink when you need her?!

Such a cute story
When I finish the first book of this series and read the synopsis of this one , went to amazon and grab it , it's was a cute story of love and understanding each other , a trust between this two and loyalty so both are bond with secrets than can ruined o keep it together . I'm looking forward to read all the books of this series because I'm pretty sure they'll be a good ones.

I have read four of the five Boston Underworld books by A. Zavarelli and I really enjoyed them. They are all kind of the same as in the HEA and kind of the same plot line but the characters are so vastly different. I have to say Reaper is my favorite out of all them. I really enjoyed Ronan and Sasha's story, especially Ronan's background story, his origins story, if you will. Ronan is such a dark and complicated character and reading him was so much fun.
Ronan is a killer and that is all he knows. He was born, he was taught to kill and that is his job, then he goes home and reads until he is needed for another job. His whole life is the Irish mob in Boston, he lives for carrying out the orders of his best friend and boss, Lachlan but then one night he see's Sasha and killing isn't the only thing on his mind. Sasha is stripper and works in the club that the Irish mob does their business in. She wants out and she wants to live a life free of gangsters and disgusting men but she has a thing for Ronan and the two of them share a deadly secret.
Ronan is so different from the other alpha males in the series and in most mafia romance books. Ronan has had a childhood and upbringing that is really unique and heartbreaking and how he goes about courting Sasha (if you want to call it that) is interesting, funny and heartbreaking all at once. I won't go into it anymore because I don't want to spoil Ronan's story because you have to read it. Ronan is really an awesome book boyfriend, a little awkward (a lot awkward) but ultimately he has become a fav of mine.
All of the Boston Underworld books are connected even though each book is its own story between only two characters but things going on in one book are going on in the background of the others. So it is important to read all them and I would suggest reading them in order. I did not. I read the last book, Thief, first and because I could tell that other stuff was happening simultaneously in the other books I decided to start from the first book and work my way through the series. It made understanding all the books much easier. This is a fun series to read and I highly recommend it.
