Yet again, I give another book by Stacy Reid a try because the reviews are good and the plot summary sounds interesting. And yet again, I find myself extremely disappointed. Will I learn? Probably not!

This book is in dire need of an editor, but then again, it would be an entirely different book. Oh well!

Maybe 1.5 stars, but this one is definitely the weakest book in the series so far. I loved the heroines and was very, very annoyed by the male MCs in the previous two books, but Westfall is the worst of them, patronising and judgamental and just an asshole, and Evie lacked the charm and strength of Adeline and Olivia. I'm intrigued by the premise of book 4 so I'll stick to it, but I really don't have high hopes for that one...

I have been waiting to read this book for MONTHS!!!

It was a letdown in that Richard was not good enough for Evie. On the plus side, after knowing the full truth of how she has loved him over the years, he tried his absolute best to be worthy of her.

Richard has a very big heart although he only has a big heart after discovering the situation of his daughter. He wanted to save every young children from such a fate. So, he became philanthropic.

Evie is amazing with a big heart. I thought Richard does not deserve her, not when he viewed her with censure despite having strong feelings for her. However, he tried his very best to make her happy after they married.

The book was good. I was disappointed.

4.5 rounded up because wow!! Angsty and steamy and just so good! He doesn’t give her the benefit of the doubt to care about the same issues he cares about, and wow it was test to see her prove herself and have his ear his words!!

Loved the mutual pining, loved the dynamic of them being scandalous friends and stuff.

I got where Tobias was coming from with Evie but man, he needed to get his head out of his a** a few chapters back and listen to the poor girl.
Trigger Warnings: mentions of war, child abandonment, baby farming, poverty, pedophilia mentioned, violence, and blood

I really loved this book. I loved the angst and I’m such a sucker for friends to lovers in any romance book. Evie and Richard were so perfect for one another and I loved their banter with one another. This could’ve been a five star book but I felt like Richard took a little too long to get with the program..
