Note to self: 4 stars only as reminder that i would read it again; actually 3 stars because I was so annoyed by the constant repetition of the word "triad".

I'm really not a fan of serialization as a publishing strategy. I love me some Ruby Dixon and the space pirates are my absolute favorites--but published as novels, the serials are inevitably too long, meandering, and repetitive. This one should have been half the length (with 1/10 of the uses of "triad")

This one didn't live up to what I hoped it would be. I loved Bethiah in her previous cameos and had been looking forward to her book. I was hoping for a fun, exciting adventure, and this was not that.

Plus there's other woman drama (we finally meet Rhonda who Bethiah has mentioned before) thrown in.

This was first a serial, and I think the serials released as books just don't work well. They get too drawn out.
