No me enloqueció.

Grace goes to the Sanctuary with the Captain and Lorcan's donor in an attempt to heal Lorcan. Meanwhile, Connor remains with Captain Wrathe and finds that there are some aspects of pirating that his moral conscience won't justify. Jez, thought to be dead, reappears, charming his friends into thinking he's reformed.

Exciting and full of action, the story really moved along with this installment.

Loved it!

I loved this book. I like how Grace make the dangerous trip to the Sanctuary to save Lorcan. I like how she is show her own room, and how she makes sure that Sharie stays with her. I hate how they take the ribbons, and how it makes Sherrie attack Grace and hurt her. I like how Lorcan begins to regain his sight and how he will be fine. I hate how Oliver and Johnny betray Grace and join Sidorio. I like how Lorcan saves Grace from Johnny. I really enjoyed this book and would rate it 5 stars.

My very first book finished for '09.

This was probably my favorite so far in the series. Lots of drama & conflict.

I can hardly wait for the next book to come out.

Ahhhh....adventure on the high Vampirate seas...this is a superbly fun series. Plenty of action in both Vampirate and regular pirate varietal. What's great about this series is that piracy is an accepted form of occupation. There is a Pirate Academy for the non-Vampirate and Sanctuary for the vampires who wish to become Vampirates. Sanctuary helps the vampires become less addicted to the bloodlust and more of a mellower vampire.
The story trades back and forth between Grace's and then Connor's point of view. Each has their own trials and rewards, abilities and faults.
One constant that each has had to suffer is Sidorio, the Vampirate who is now Captain of his own small, but growing crew. Sidorio was a member of the Vampirate ship and left to form his own when he decided that he wanted to be a vampire of the old school and is evil incarnate. He woos vampires to his cause and becomes a force to be reckoned with.
A truly amazing series that I highly recommend. It's a YA series, but all who enjoy a good paranormal tale will dig each book.

This was such a good book. It was filled with action and Mr Somper made gutsy move after gutsy move, such as having Connor do something really bad to protect someone that he did not like and I loved how they was explored. I also like his interactions with the Vampirates, brief as they were.
Yet I found Grace's side also interesting having her investigate the ribbon and yet that leading her to explore her own powers same place aboard the Nocturne. I also found her relationships with each of the different crew members both vampire and human were all developed.
Yet the end had such a good plot twist that started out more like people drawing the battle lines but once they had been drawn the plot twist at the very end in the last couple of pages was well excicuted in a way that shocked me. Even though I suspected that there might be a family connection between the Tempast twins and the Vampire captain, I still did not guess that that was it!

How great is this book? Amazing. It's not like the other vampire books you hear out there, and though the target age group is around the 4, 5, and 6 grade levels in the UK, it is a very pleasant book to read. I love it, and I wish that more would read it! You're missing out!!
