Rant Review: for the record, this story is amazing I just wish my favorite could have been the ML 😭
I wish our MC would have actually become more invested in Eckles.
He truly had potential, but his past/currant abuse and her treatment of him is slowly driving him insane. I can already tell this will end badly.
Someone commented that it’s almost like the plot forgot about him despite his importance as her ‘meal ticket out of this world’, but I feel like that’s the point.
She treats him as her meal ticket. She just has to save him, give him gifts, and occasionally pat him on the head and he will love her- just like the game character he is. She doesn’t see him as a person, and rarely thinks about his feelings or listens to what he is saying. She is uncomfortable with him, doesn’t trust him, but needs him.
He was already pretty blackened by the world, but I believe that Penelope will drive him insane.
And that makes me so sad 😭
Still, I do like the crown prince too, and I like their chemistry. I also love how she has handled every OTHER male lead. I just wish Eckles could have had a chance for happiness…
