Great story. Much less archaic than I though it would be. It didn't bother at all that I knew the storyline in advance. Too bad that unlike Dracula, Carmilla has not been very successfully adapted into film (although I do like the girlie scenes in the Hammer classic Lust for a Vampire =)).

Read from the Re: Dracula podcast dramatization (ish? more like an audiobook?) of Carmilla. Great job.
**update: I read it again with the other dramatization just to see how it was different. Still good.

I liked this book because it slowly reveals that things aren't what they seem. It is a much easier read than Stoker's Dracula for someone trying to get into literature from the late 1800's.
