Recommended for anyone interested in the nuts and bolts of making Hollywood films, although screenwriters will get the most out of it. It could have been 4 stars with a little more depth, and I got really tired of the WORD written in ALL CAPS to EMPHASIZE A POINT THEY WERE MAKING. (I suppose if you're writing for people who skim...) Also, why is Billy Crystal a dick? I want to know!

(Recommended by my boss.) Probably useful if you actually want to write hollywood movies, but nothing particularly novel for me otherwise. Key points:

* Always be writing
* Help other people not get fired
* Be a heteronormal male
* Drink heavily

Breezy but also serious look at the business of selling a screenplay. Quite funny at times (honestly, I was losing it at a section of how to tell your status with the studio by where you get to park.)

I laugh-out-loud funny guide to writing screenplays and surviving the movie industry. Even someone with no interest in this area would find this book entertaining.
