I loved Taisia Kitaiskaia's Ask Baba Yaga, with its beautiful, poetic language. When I saw she had also written this book I had to get it. She writes enchanting poetry about amazing female writers, and also provided me with a new reading list. Also, Katy Horan's illustrations are magical.

Literary Witches celebrates the creative power of women writers in several genres and eras. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the suggestions that it gives based around the works of each Rider that it includes. I found it fascinating that they included Octavia Butler and Toni Morrison within the scope as well as several other writers like Leslie Marmon Silko.

I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS MAGICAL, CREATIVE, FEMINIST, INSPIRATIONAL BOOK. There just aren't words to cover it. It's strange and mythical and beautiful and perfect. If I could, I would buy this book for everyone in my life.

Beautifully imagined and executed, and much more inclusive than this sort of book (in the West, in English) is in my experience.

This was a cute and quick read. It reimagines these authors as witches. A majority of the women I knew and am a huge fan of their work. The ladies that I didn’t know works will be added to my ‘to read’ list.

I was hoping there was a little more to the backgrounds. But the art was really cool
