Mi segundo caso favorito. Disfruté leyéndolo

Este libro no me ha gustado. Simple y llanamente.
Las aventuras de Dave Gurney y compañía siempre me son amenas pero esta vez lo que me ha fallado es la trama.
No ha conseguido que me guste, entre que tarda 300 páginas en arrancar y que el tema sicarios a sueldo y mafias no me gusta, pues el libro no ha sido de mi agrado.
Lo más interesante los avances y problemas con el gallinero de Madeleine y Dave. Y HORACE. Creo que solo me lo he terminado para saber que pasaba con las gallinas y el gallo.
Hablemos también del escenario escogido para la escena final y el poco aprecio que le tengo a las ferias y norias... Me ha parecido todo super precipitado en las últimas 100 páginas y algunas tramas de personajes y de situaciones no se ha terminado de hilar (bajo mi punto de vista) bien.
Este libro se deja leer solo, la acción es bastante fluida y con toques de humor,además de tener unos personajes entrañables y bien construidos.
Me hubiera encantado que lo hubiese disfrutado pero no ha sido el caso.

ESTO SE SOLUCIONA LEYENDO EL SIGUIENTE DE LA SAGA Y YA ESTÁ.

I had not read previous John Verdon books and regret opening in the middle of a series. I wish I had started at the beginning but I did enjoy what I read. I enjoyed the author's writing style and how melodic it flowed through the pages. It did lag at times, but it was a thrilling mystery with twists and turns I wasn't expecting. I would have probably enjoyed it more if I was more familiar with the characters.

Probably 4.5 stars. Verdon's books are so intelligently written, and this one is no exception. Another great read from him!

si era bastante amigable, algunas cosas terminaba suponiéndolas antes que el protagonista se diera cuenta. Pensé que tendría que fijarme en muchos detalles para llegar primero al descubrimiento, pero la solución era una cosa simple...

A saga de David Gurney está a tornar-se mais do mesmo de livro para livro. As peripécias à roda dos casos chegam a ser interessantes, mas depois perdem-se um pouco nas repetições das suposições e na revisão do que o detective já descobriu ou pensa até determinada altura da investigação. Não me sentiria muito impelido nesse momento a ler outra aventura de Gurney, talvez mais tarde e se for realmente algo mais cativante.

John Verdon is the master of the puzzle of a crime. The books in the series focus on the puzzle pieces and the skill of the main character in combining his intuition with the step by step process of peeling back the layers of the crime.

This is a particularly suspenseful book. If you like Michael Connelly Harry Bosch books I think you'll like the John Verdon series. Best to start with the first one "Think of a Number", but not essential.

Un autre bon livre de John Verdon. Une enquête policière qui débute de manière assez orignale, mais qui malheureusement devient plus prévisible vers la fin, bien qu'elle soit également originale, on la voit venir d'assez loin. L'évolution de Dave et des autres personnages est intéressante, ils sont pour la plupart bien attachants et c'est agréable de les revoir de livre en livre. Un livre qui ne passera probablement pas à l'histoire, mais un très bon roman policier qui offre un divertissement agréable!
