I’m at a point where I’m less interested in reading about high schoolers, but I decided to give this a shot. I’m really happy I did! This was wonderful!!

I loved the main two and their dynamic is really sweet. They’re very supportive of each other’s interests. Watching them start to hang out outside of school was really fun, and when their characters started to change, I was excited to see how that would affect the way they see each other. I’m also a fan of the fact that the girls shine independently too—there are moments where other people admire their passion and effort. 

Aya in particular throws herself into English music with enthusiasm and it’s really fun! And reading about Mitsuki working up the nerve to finally create something herself made me super proud. 

The supporting cast is good too. Mitsuki’s uncle and his ex gf Kanna are personal faves. Aya’s friends also had their own thing going on, and help address an interesting aspect of friendships: feeling left out after someone new gets along with your best friend. 

In short, this was a cute, medium sized read. I definitely recommend!
