I know I keep reading these and I know I keep saying the same thing - story line once again stretching any bounds of believability!! However, give it a few months and I will no doubt listen to the next in the series and say the same thing again.
It's a series so I can't help myself. Plus the narrator is good so makes it worth listening to.

I found the beginning of this book a little confusing. I know it's part of a series and I suspect that someone familiar with the other books may not have the same experience. That said, once things shifted and I realised who the main character ACTUALLY was, things started to make more sense and I rather enjoyed "the ride" of the murder mystery. I think the way it ended was also a nice touch in bringing continuity (and I did have my suspicions as to the true identity of that character from the start).

A solid mystery with a nice twist. I think I’m finally starting to like Frieda Klein.

3.5 to 4 stars. I think it may have helped a little bit to have read the others in the series (and I actually want to now - which is a sign of a good, readable series), but it didn't detract TOO much. But that ending has my curiosity piqued!

I don't really know what keeps drawing me to these books. I don't particularly feel close to Frieda as a character, or any of the other characters in here. But there's something about these books that make me want to know what's next, even if they also aren't the most memorable mysteries to me.
I struggled a bit with this book, but in the end it wasn't bad. It wasn't great either, but I feel like it was a solid book. I don't know if I ever felt truly invested in what was happening to the characters, which was probably hindering my enjoyment a bit. But I was still curious to see what had happened, and enjoyed Frieda's journey in this book.
Solid continuation of the series, but nothing new, despite slightly the different premise in comparison to the other books in the series.

I really need Frieda and Karlsson back in action like they were during the first 3 books in the series. A dead body is found in Thames with Frieda’s hospital wristband. The body is identified to be Sandy, Frieda’s ex. Frieda is on the run to find out who killed Sandy. First of all, the new detectives are really annoying. They jump to conclusions; they never listen to logical explanations or follow the leads. The Commissioner holds a grudge against Frieda for whatever reason and that is beyond annoying as well. I didn’t enjoy Frieda on the run bits, especially whenever she goes to babysit. You’re wanted for murder, woman, stop babysitting and start investigating! I also didn’t enjoy the identity of the killer as well as the motive for murder.
Still an enjoyable read, but not as good as the previous books in the series.
