I did not like this one as much as the others I have read by her. It was hard to get into and it felt too long. I was disappointed in the ending.

This was my fourth Kristin Hannah novel and one of my favorites. After failing to finish "Firefly Lane" because of a lack of interest or connection with the characters, it took me several weeks to read "True Colors," which was better than "Firefly" but not great. This one took me only two days to read and brought me to tears more than once - a testament to Hannah's ability to write a great novel when she keeps it short and simple. I prefer her books that are limited to short periods of time because the character development is so much better than the long, epic, try-to-put-four-or-five-decades-of-a-life-into-one-book can ever accomplish. She's just not the kind of writer who can pull that off successfully. I will likely choose which novels of hers to read much more wisely in the future and look forward to discovering other gems like this one.

The story was interesting, but lagged at times, often dragged down by too much description that didn't actually add anything to the action. Overall it was a typical Kristin Hannah book, with an inspirational message and slightly unbelievably outcome.

This book was just average. I feel like it just wasn't for me. It was a bit dull in my opinion. Decent but just not the best I've read.

I good "beach read". Touches on the role of celebrity in our culture and in a relationship.

I love Kristin Hannah but I really struggled to get through this one. I didn’t realize when I bought it that it was an older book of hers, but yikes this was not what I’ve come to expect from her. No substance, boring, and characters that just aren’t memorable at all.
