Volume 8 of “Kakegurui” sets up a group bet, a dash of poison, and some set up for future conflicts among the leads. I really dug this volume, but I am a sucker for when the leads get to work together. Mary and Suzui are an excellent duo and I missed reading them. That Suzui gets some page time at all is also nice (where has he been?). The art was great and how the gamble unfolds was also very satisfying.

Another fantastic and thrilling instalment which kept me hooked throughout! I loved the focus of Mary in this one and the addition of Runa was everything! I loved her in the anime too :)
