The great thing about the Simon's "cat books" is there is a lot going on in each picture but no words.  One of my kids has special needs that make reading difficult for him, and when he was younger these were great books to get him into reading, because we could talk about what was happening on the pages and make up stories.  Because there were no words, it made the books less intimidating and more fun for him.  

Of course it is just fun to read in general, Simon Tofield does an excellent job capturing canine and feline behavior.
