This one just didn't work for me. Perhaps in part due to the larger focus and POV of Hastings, who I'm just now realizing features in both the Christie books that I've disliked. The story felt like one very long first act, setting up pieces and characters (a particularly bland set of supporting cast) but never really going anywhere. Even after being spoiled on the killer when trying to look up what year this book was set, this didn't hinder my reading as much as I would've thought because it still seemed aimless. I didn't even realize it by the time I'd got to the last few pages because it felt like nothing much had happened. I also just don't know if I fully buy the premise. 

Probably my least favorite Christie book of the 7 I've read.
