This book was an absolute joy to read. It was funny and highly entertaining. It left me in stitches.
Katie is a Jinn, or genie as you would call it. Careful to keep her identity a secret, she runs her wish granting business under the disguise of another. Her power to grant wishes is her downfall in the love department as well. She has been left at the alter 3 times. Each because she wasn't willing to grant the wishes of her fiancé.
Jilted for the third time throws her into a tailspin. Determined to get back up and be normal again she hires Martin, a Romani, to fix her house. The same house that now has a monster size hole in the roof.
In steps Portia.
Martin has seen Katie at her lowest and yet he still finds her attractive. He is fiercely protective over her and yet he can't seem to get her to see him the way he sees her. Watching her date others tears him up inside, but he is just her contractor and that is all he will ever seem to be....
These two MC characters cracked me up. The situations they got into was fun and oh so crazy. I loved Martin. He was the definition of the strong and silent type. He was protective, caring and of course a sexy stud, with a nice butt. wink! wink!
Katie was sweet and kind. People run all over her, hence her affinity to use glamour. The guys she dates are total losers and not worthy of her kindness. Not only is she a powerful person, she is an amazing cook and baker.
Together Katie and Martin have an amazing chemistry that is hard to deny throughout the book. The story is sweet, cutesy and fun. I love rom-coms and this one was pure perfection. It has fun and snarky characters along with an amazing and unique plot line.
I am enjoying this series immensely and cannot wait to read more.

I really love this series so far, although Katie has the worst taste in men!
I would have given it 5 stars if it wasn't for the bad grammar. Why do writers use past participle without a modifier? Or worse, the past tense WITH a modifier! Drives me nuts. Learn tenses!!
Still I will be reading the rest of these because they're light and cute and I'm hooked.

Not What I Expected
So I feel like this was sold as a comedy and it's not so much. There were like one or two scenes that made me laugh and the rest was kind of depressing. I mean her life and the way everyone takes advantage of her is really sad and her friends kind of suck.
This book also has more than a couple typos. I mean it's not so bad that its difficult to read but the editor could have done a better job. Like there's a scene with a human named Sarah and a wrich named Sherry where Sarah somehow becomes the one in the know explaining an incubus. It's clear from the scene the writer meant to say Sherry but that's not what's written. It's not stuff like misspelled words it's more typing a similarly spelled but wrong word and no one catching it.
I liked that the story took place over months to make the feeling believable but I didn't like that we don't really get to see them in a relationship at all. It was a decent book but it wasn't what I was expecting.
