När Megans syster Deirdre berättar att hon kontaktats av den döde brodern Dennis och att han bad att få tillbaka det som stulits från honom bestämmer familjen sig för att äntligen komma till skott och få rättvisa skipad. Efter tio år ska Dennis mördare, Theo Moreland - blivande hertig, lämnas över till myndigheterna! Megan, Deidre och deras far åker från New York till London för att återfinna det Dennis saknar och skipa rättvisa.
De träffar mr Barchester, en av de män som gjorde Dennis och lorden sällskap på deras upptäcktsresa till Amazonas, och han återupprepar den berättelse han redan skickat i brev: hur lorden överföll Dennis och högg ihjäl honom med en kniv.
Megan, som varandes grävande journalist, tar plats som informator till Theos yngre bröder för att lära sig mer om mördaren och få möjlighet att leta rätt på Dennis saknade tingest - något mr Barchester tror kan vara ett halssmycke.
Men hon har inte räknat med att familjen skulle vara så trevlig. Och att Theo själv skulle påverka henne så. Hon som aldrig varit nära att falla för en man…

Spännande, romantisk och med övernaturliga inslag - precis som de tidigare delarna i serien. Naturligtvis “vet” vi att Theo inte kan vara Dennis mördare! Men vem är det istället?!
Nästa del i serien verkar inte vara översatt än, så den får bli på originalspråk. För naturligtvis vill jag veta hur det går för de andra i familjen.

This was so good! The perfect balance of funny and sweet with a touch of action. Can’t wait to read the rest of the books in this series.

Too many publishing trends in one book. It seemed to be trying too hard to work for multiple genres.

American Megan Mulcahey is convinced that English nobleman Theo Moreland killed her brother ten years ago. And now her sister is having dreams that her family believes that they should take revenge. Megan gets taken on as a tutor for the two youngest of the Moreland children, twin boys who get into mischief in every book of this series. She doesn't actually know as much as them in some subjects but she only needs to hang on long enough to find proof that Theo murdered Dennis. Unfortunately, she finds herself charmed by the family and falling in love with Theo.
The Moreland family is unusual and that means that Theo doesn't necessarily think that finding the tutor in his father's study means anything malicious. He is more amused than alarmed. It doesn't hurt that said tutor is beautiful.
It took me a little bit to get into this book because the beginning was just a little slow. I was pretty much considering a DNF at around the 80 page mark but read the last 30 pages and decided to wade through. And it was worth it. Most of the real story action starts about three-quarters of the way in but you need a lot of the slog to really understand what is going on. Like all of the books in the Mad Moreland series, there is a lot of mystical-type stuff going on but bringing that in is when the book really started to get good.
