This was a very good book, but also utterly devistating and emotionally devistating. Listening to Simone's account of the death of her mother brought my own mother's death back in great detail.

insanely touching, but hit a little too close to home for me. i found myself thinking that it must have been much more rewarding to have written this book than to have read it-- as i don't wish the knowing of what's it's like to watch a loved one slowly die on anyone.

I’m being unfair to this book and can sense I’m rating it lower because it made me so drastically uncomfortable. The reckoning with minute detail during times of pain is not a process I am familiar with
