Lots of entwined secrets and revelations made within this book. The story and characters were well written and believable from the main players to those who were mentioned in passing. The varying genres (historical, romance, and magical realism) that came into play throughout the story kept me invested and thoroughly entertained from the beginning to end. 

i found it really well paced and liked the magical realism. the “mystery” was part of the story but it wasn’t the whole focus. 

Despite a slow start, this story reeled me in. I was in tears by the end and I’m ultimately glad I didn’t give up on it. Set in 1950s Oklahoma, it’s a story of love, perseverance, and what happens when people trust themselves and their family with their darkest secrets.
