Extremely angst-y but beautiful Western romance! I enjoyed this a lot, a very tender love story and the way it’s written is very evocative of the time period.

This is one of my all-time favourites. It's the author's first book and you can feel it: the pacing isn't perfect, the writing can be dragging at times, the villains are comical in their evil-ness and honestly, Cord's family is just.. Impossible and impossibly annoying. But! Anne and Cord are lovable, strong characters, slowly building a working relationship from a horrible incident, making mistakes and learning along the way. They love each other and their feelings come across clearly from the book.
