I was sick when I got to read this and forgot to write my review.
The final installment of The Five Crowns of Okrith is finally here! This book was a little more character driven than some of the characters but I love it when stories do that.
Cary's is following what she feels is the course her life must take but in the process she is thrown together again with her fated, the same man who betrayed her trust years before. This book has all the lovers to enemies, enemies to reluctant allies vibes possible. I also love that Mulford's characters make legitimate mistakes and must deal with the consequences. It gives the fantasy a believable human edge that makes you fall in love with the characters even more.
Cary's develops a lot over the course of this book and I was glad to see that played out in the text. If you're use to the faster pace of book 2 or 4 this one may seem slow, but as a wrap up to the series I think it worked well. This series got me hooked on Mulford's writing back when it was indie published and it's still one of my favorite fantasy series.

A beautiful ending to the Crowns of Okrith. I laughed, I swooned, I freaking balled my eyes out. I get it Aneryn, I really do. I can't be more specific without spoilers. Carys' growth in this book was so good. Watching it come off the page was just wild, so well written. If you've read the rest of the series, don't miss out. If you like romantasy, give this series a shot.
