After hearing so many good things about Jill Mansell I decided to pick one of her books up and give it a go. Unfortunately, this book just wasn't for me. Although the story was a modern, happy romance, I just didn't take to any of the characters. I couldn't relate to any of them and I thought they were all quite childish, and I was shocked with mention of their actual ages written at various points in the book. It was too predictable and quite unrealistic, but I still plan on picking up another book by the author later this year.

Okay so i got this book off a giveaway from this site and i read it as soon as i got home today-i found it on my doorstep and was so excited i sat down on my bed, sorted out my laptops then started reading on and off until i finished it around 5pm-

Lily is such a great character and i can relate to her a lot since she and i both lost our mothers. That's what made me click with her right away but that's not the only thing i adore about her. She draws people in and cares about them all so much and it's just so nice to see specially when most of the books i read the main character hates a lot of people so it's definitely refreshing.

{Spoilers beyond this point}

I love how Declan doesn't even hesitate to talk and visit her and share the part of his life he shared with her mother and it's just so amazing.

I adored Lily and Eddie together but i think if i ever re-read the book i'll be rooting for Dan and Lily you know? those two are really adorable and together they are such cuties!.

When this book comes out in 2016 i will definetly be buying it for 3 of my friends as birthday presents and hopefully it'll get them as hooked as it did me.

This my first Jill Mansell book and oh it was such a great book to introduce me to her.

10 outta 10 would recommend

First time with this author--it was a sweet cozy Brit-lit, I would definitely read more of hers.

This is a super fun read. There are great characters, delectable plot twists, romance, good guys, and a villain. I loved the witty banter between childhood friends Lily and Dan and between Dan and his older sister, Patsy. Really, the interactions between all the friends was great.

Though Lily’s mother died when Lily was young, before her death, she wrote letters to Lily for each year of her birthday up until her 25th birthday. When Lily opens that letter, she learns about her mother’s one true love (not Lily’s biological father, who wanted nothing to do with her). Looking up her mom’s old flame, Lily gets to learn more about her mom. Along the way, as Patsy goes on one horrible date after another, Dan keeps dating the wrong women and breaking up with them, Lily gets to fall for a movie star, who feels the same way about her.

A fun, fast novel.

I received a copy of You and Me, Always through NetGalley for an honest review.

I am going back in time, entering books I read last year. I did put little blurbs on IG for some books, so I wanted to share what I wrote two weeks after the sudden death of my then 21 year old daughter's best friend of 16 years, a loss that ripped my heart out: "It has been a rough two weeks, and my mind wasn't able to focus on much beyond my sadness, let alone focus on reading. This lovely little love story helped." I know this isn't a helpful review; my apologies.
