Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

I never read the original book so this is my first introduction to The Secret Garden.
It is a lovely story for both adults and young readers. The art in this graphic novel is beautifully done and I am being transported to the grey and moody England in this first part of The Secret Garden. I particularly love the facial expressions, the mansion and the sleeping garden and can't wait for part two to come out, with what I think is a colorful garden in spring blooming.

The story is good but the illustrations are what makes this a special read for me. I would recommend this to anyone who like graphic novels.

Je n'ai pas lu ce classique, mais la version BD était charmante! Magnifiquement bien illustrée et bien structurée. J'ai hâte de lire la deuxième partie!

**ARC provided by NetGalley for honest review**

The Secret Garden script & art by Maud Begon was a delight. Many children's classics are easy to consume in all their forms, and this story is no exception. There's something so refreshing about seeing a familiar story told through pictures as well as words, and I just loved every minute of it. My only sadness is that this is only the first half of the story. I'm so looking forward to the next half!

(I received an ARC of this book through NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion.)

I liked this graphic novel, even though I have not yet read the original novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett. Therefore, I can't really say if it's a good adaptation and if it matches the vibes of the original book. If I'm not wrong, I think this graphic novel only includes the first half of the book (which is tragic, because now I *need* to know how it ends!)

I loved the illustrations and the characters, who for the most part were very endearing. I was a little confused with the language they used, especially that of the lower class characters. I suppose it's a colloquial use of the language, but the truth is that they did not expect it. It took a while to get used to, but then it was alright!

Orphaned Mary is sent from her home in India to live with her reclusive uncle on the moors in England. As Mary adjust to her new life in England she learns about a secret garden on the grounds, she meets Dickon, the maid’s young brother and finally she discovers that the crying she hears at night comes from her guardian’s ill son who is hidden away from sight.

The Secret Garden has been one of my favorite books since childhood. I collect illustrated versions of this classic tale. Maud Begon has captured both the essence of the characters and provides beautiful illustrations to bring this classic to life. Highly recommended.

Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read a digital sample of this book in exchange for a review. All opinions are my own.

I have an extreme soft spot for the novel "The Secret Garden" having grown up with the story, and I believe this graphic novel does the book justice. It's beautifully illustrated and is true to the original story. I can't wait to read volume two!

Thank you to Netgalley and Europe Comics for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I love it when some classic novels are made into graphic novels, the story is the same but the art always differs from one artist to another and each time it is like you're reading the story for the first time.

This one is my favovorite graphic novel version of "The Secret Garden". Maud Begon created something so beautiful and enjoyable to read and it was such a pleasure to look at all her illustrations in each page, it even made me take my pensil and draw. I loved it so so much and this is only the first part, so I will be waiting for the next book.

Thank you so much for this agreeable reading moment.
