Entertaining, but all of E Feist's books are effectively the same story with different names

talon is just so good. i love his development as a character, especially just how forged he is for a singular purpose. its nice seeing pug's more calculating side.

It's been far too long to give this a proper review as I read this in 2004. I enjoyed it as a young boy and remember I couldn't wait to read it after school and to get my hands on the next one.

The more I think about it the less I like it. The whole 'love you but only pretend' scenario was plain tacky.

I was two thirds of the way through this book before I remembered I had already read it. I can't get into the main character of this book, and I don't know if I will keep reading the series. Not the best.

While shorter than the previous books in this series there is, in my opinion, no visible decline in quality after the Serpentwar Saga, contrary to what I've often seen mentioned online.
