I love Hazel and Killian together, but that ending was too abrupt. Of course I'm hooked and will keep reading the next book.

OMG! I honestly loved this book. Killian is my favorite and I need Book 3 now...that's all.

Spoiler

Them breaking into the volt was so interesting but I love how they trusted Hazel to use her powers to protect them all. RIP THE RING but you know not really.

But seriously the ball scene was great. I mean like every single part. Hazel feeding Killian tiramisu and everyone freaking out, the fact that Gavino got Hazel to calm Killian down and how she did it, Hazel yelling at the Elite, Adept Bellus (I love her), and THE KISS.

I really do love Killian and I totally saw what he was doing by kicking Hazel out but...why are men stupid.

Also, I'm so proud of Hazel taking back her house!

They may be one of my new favorite fantasy couples.

And I think I like Rupert now.

I liked this second installment to the series, even with the "I love her so let's push her away" trope. I appreciated that the author didn't have Hazel immediately forgive him even with understanding his motives.

This is a fun followup to the previous book! Hazel tries to get her House back the proper way (ie the legal way) and it lets readers learn more about the politics of the world. She also learns more about how to become a better leader and how she plans to lead whenever she reclaims her House.
I always enjoy the interactions with the Paragon and Aphrodite, of course! They both add humor to the story.
This book is a little less climactic than the other, but that’s not a bad thing, this book’s storyline is more talk. And there are less unnecessary parentheses (you’ll know what I mean if you read it or if you read the other) in this story.

This book is good for all ages like the previous one and there is minimal swearing.

I don't usually read fade to black but the story of this book gripped me! I was so invested. I loved it enough to do multiple rereads.
