Greek Mythology at its hottest. The Oath is about when Nymphs reach 30 they will die if they haven't found their mate. The nymph in this story is only weeks away from 30. She's been having erotic dreams of the two males for her for years. But are they real and if so, why haven't they found her? Well her life is about to become hotter than the dreams.

Definitely a book for mature readers that like PNR.

I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of the book.

The Nymph’s Oath Book 1 by Laurell Emily Grey is book one in her Nymph’s Oath series. In this book we are introduced to the first nymph, Emily, who succumbs and does something that she is truly ashamed of…she sleeps with a married man. She tries to run from her shame but it follows her until one day she cries out to the gods and begs that they end her misery and kill her. Zeus brings her to him and gives her two options: become his mistress for all of eternity OR her descendants have to stay on an island and go into heat every year until they are claimed by their mates. But there is a catch…if they are not claimed by the age of 30 then they will die a horrible death and she will become a cyclone that destroys them. Emily choses to not repeat her earlier sin and rejects Zeus’s first offer and signs agreeing to the second and only after is when he tells her the whole of what will happen to any unclaimed. Many years later…Rose is now 30 and fears that she will die alone. She dreams of her mates and they dream of her but they must find each other. Her mates have been told that they must find her soon or lose her forever because time is running out. They have less than two weeks…will they be able to beat the deadline or will Emily become a terrifying cyclone that will destroy all the nymphs who are as of yet still unclaimed?
The Nymph’s Oath Book 1 sets the stage very nicely for this series. It gives us the background story as to how the Nymph’s Oath is created and how it came to be in the first place. Zeus is portrayed as how he is come to be known throughout all mythology…as a womanizer and he’s hot to pursue Emily because he knows that she is his mate but she refuses him based on the fact that he himself is married and will not repeat her mistake again. Fast forwarding years Rose is impatiently waiting to find her mates. They all dream of each other every night and have been for years but they never believed her to be real until a visit to their pack Oracle tells them that she is very much real and very much in danger of dying soon if they do not find and claim her.
I really enjoyed this book and how it really brings things together and how it flows. It focuses on Rose and her two mates finding her. Since they are all three on the same and not that far from each other on the island that’s not a difficult task to accomplish really. For a moment while reading this story I feared that it would just be straight forward and done and over with them finding her and claiming her and that the story would then be a touch dull but the author throws in a bit of surprise which I really appreciated because it kept the story engaging.
Like the other stories by this author the sex is steamy and very hot. Rose is portrayed as a very wanton creature once she gets around her mates and they are more than eager to please her and make her happy. It’s very well written and one to definitely grab the attention and keep those who are very much into this particular genre engaged and enjoying the story.
While there are a few errors of where words are missing from sentences for me the story is still a very good read and one that I enjoyed very much. I’ve read book 3 in the series and so I like how the author takes one sister character and focuses the story on her and her mates. It makes it much more enjoyable and easier to follow along as well. All in all I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. I really love a good back story and this book gives me exactly that. Kudos to the author, job very well done.
