Never having read a Marc Levy novel, I had no idea I was in for a pleasant, engrossing surprise. “The Last of the Stanfields” is a well-crafted, tightly honed tale filled with equal parts delightful history, family saga, mystery, intrigue and a little bit of romance. A perfect novel fitting for a day or two of guilty-pleasure, binge reading.

C'est excellent. Marc Levy a créé un livre tel intéressant ! Qui a écrit les messages ? Pourquoi ? Qu'est-ce que c'est le crime ? Qui a fait ? Quand ? Beaucoup des questions. Et bien fait par Marc Levy.

Another free Kindle read, but this one was pretty good! They mystery of it was enough to keep me interested and want to know who wrote the letters. And I was shocked a bit at the ending. Good, light read, especially for a freebie.

Easy read

Second book I've read by him and it's another cute and easy to read book. Very much enjoyed it. It is a past and present based book but the plot is easy to follow along with the each characters story.

This book was really hard for me to get into, but I'm so glad I stuck with it. The author totally pulled it all together in the end and had me going back to reread parts of the book. Totally went from a 'meh' 3 stars to 4!

Nice read. Family saga spanning three generations and three time periods. There was a good mix of mystery, romance, and humor. The story come together nicely in the end.

I liked Marc Levy's writing style and hope to read more.

All night page turner

The timberline was perfect. The author drug out the story at a perfect pace and sprinkled enough clues along the way to keep you entranced!

It’s refreshing to have a mystery unfold that doesn’t involve some British girl getting murdered and left for dead in a garden.

I wasn’t really sure where this book would bring me as it time hopped from the 70s into 2016 - but it got there in a unique way.

But, it was definitely too long! Some parts were not engaging and felt unnecesssry.

However, it is nice to have a book that is written that is just about adults doing adult things and learning things about themselves, their family and maybe finding love in the process.
