The first book I have read from this author and in this detective series. Fast paced and tense, a great read, and I will defintiely be reading the other books in the series.

Gaap.

Detective Helen Grace is back in this most recent book (at least here in the United States). In this outing, someone is killing BDSM workers and things get a little too personal for Detective Grace who has a hard time working through the insurmountable pile of evidence. Author MJ Arlidge keeps the tension going throughout and keeps the reader in suspense all the way through the shocking last page. He also gives the reader a number of false starts and false leads to keep you in the dark as much as the detectives. This one does end in a bit of a cliffhanger, so I will be waiting anxiously for the next one in the series, which is "Hide and Seek." Do you need to read the other books in the series first? Unfotunately, yes; there are some characters and scenes which carry over from the first and third books which you really need to know about before diving into this one. There are some sex scenes, some violence (I mean, it's a murder mystery.....), and some off-color language. I'm frankly surprised that more people haven't discovered this series, which is a lot of fun to read.

A highly addicted storyline that had me gripped till the very end, brilliant storyline, really enjoyed it. Thank you to the publishers and Netgallary in allowing me to read a copy of this for an honest review.
