This second installment in the series was a lot better and a lot more compelling than the first book in the trilogy. I totally loved it. It was thrilling, and gripping and absolutely enjoyable. I like Lumikki's character a lot and she's a very Finnish girl in nature even when you take out all the changes pullying has made to her character and personality.
The ending to this book was better than I thought it would be and I'm quite happy at the moment. I can't wait to get my hands on the final book in the trilogy as this series just got better on a whole new level.

Love this book. It picks up where the first left off and moves from the whodunit of "As Red as Blood" to a what the heck is going on mystery. The book twists like an eel and comes to a semi-resolution with enticing ends still hanging. Additionally, we get to finally see the softer side of our steely hard heroine, as her hopes and dreams begin to appear. Looking so forward to the third and last in the series.
I received this copy through the Goodreads First Reads program.

This was my least favourite out of all Lumikki Andersson books. To be honest, it just felt much too unrealistic and some parts of the plot were too convenient for the whole story. I ended up simultaneously connecting more with the main character Lumikki but at the same time disliking her a lot for other things. Overall, the only positive thing for me was the setting, the beautiful descriptions of Prague, but I only finished this book because I already owned the third one.

الكتاب الأول افضل بمراحل من هذه القصة ، حاولت استوعب كيف بدأت القصة وانتهت لكن يبدو ان - المخرج عاوز كده! -

I recently read and reviewed the first of these books, As Red As Blood (click HERE to read that one!) and read the second one last week but didn’t get my review done until now! I totally jinxed myself saying I was ahead with my posts last week 😂

Anyway, I digress as usual…

As White As Snow starts with Lumikki enjoying the sights and sounds of Prague. Away from the events of the previous months, she is enjoying her freedom and exploring the city. But as we’re starting to learn, life is never that simple when you’re essentially a magnet for trouble! 😏

Accosted by Lenka, claiming that she is her half sister, poor Lumikki is once again drawn into a spiders web with danger at every turn. What follows is both fast paced and interesting, because Lumikki has to reconcile the fact that she could have a sibling with the fact that said sibling has unwittingly placed her in harms way.

Listen, I’m not going to go into the plot. The blurb tells you all you need to know! I really enjoying these books. They are a break from the norm for me, marginally more light hearted but still containing serious crimes and abhorrent behaviours. Also, these books are still totally reminiscent of what I would imagine a teenage Lisbeth Salander to be like, with a bit of levity thrown in.

Two books in, and I think Salla Simukka has created a heroine that is human, flawed, young, socially awkward but super interesting to read. Also, allusions made in book 1 to a love interest get discussed in book 2 and it made perfect sense! I’m not going to say any more, just that you should read these books! I’m certain that I’ll emphasise that point after I’ve read book 3 too! 😂

I didn't think this entry into Lumikki's tale was as strong. Sure, the parts about Blaze were well-written, but I'm not sure it added anything to her character. The plot reminded me much of Dig, minus the end-of-the-world conspiracy. But since I like to finish what I start, I cannot wait for the next and last installment.
