What a fun, charming, hilarious origin story. I want so much more, I wish the prequel were a full book!

Not sure what happened in this short story. There was time travel to a Napoleon battle and a big UK schoolhouse being built. I listened to the audiobook so maybe I missed some things.

I wanted to like this, it seemed like an interesting story, but it made no sense without the context of the rest of the series. And not even in a “don’t you want to learn more?” Kind of way, just in a nonsensical “what even is going on?” Way.

For fans of the other Chronicles of St Mary's books, a short prequel to how it all started. You'd need to have read at least the first book in the series for this to make much sense.
