This was an audiobook of over 26 hours. I would have not finished it otherwise. The story could definitely do with some editing by at least a third! I enjoyed the of Cecile and Kenya but I found electra intensely annoying and the reader of her part didn’t help. I found her voice very whingey and annoying.

I didn’t like this sister, based on my previous experiences of her in past books of this series. I wasn’t looking forward to hearing her side of the story. However, I was definitely wrong.

I recommend this series to readers who like historical fiction about strong women characters. I am excited to read the subsequent books and hope to find out about the missing Merope as well as to understand the mystery of Pa Salt.

This is still my favourite of all of these sister books. It is a page turner! Electra is amazing to read about and her journey is catching and just so well done. It truly is my favorite book in the series!

Not my favourite of the sisters but the back story is good. I love the ongoing updates of the other sisters.

I’ll be honest previous mentions of Electra have led me with an impression of a spoilt brat. However, as we find out her back story and the life she lives I have warmed to her….Tiggy and Star are still my favourite though.
The Sun Sister shows how the incessant need people have today for fame does not bring happiness and adds its own complexities to how the famous live their lives in the spotlight. We are taken to Africa and Kenya specifically as we learn Electra’s family history whilst jumping to modern day as her life implodes and even her sisters are unable to help as Electra must decide her date!

As Pa Salt explains sometimes we must look backwards in order to move forward!
