Slightly better than the last one. I got bored at the end.

I was very wary about going into this novel just because Electra did not seem like a very likable character in the last installments. I loved the development of her character undertook in this novel and how she found her voice in all her troubles. I also liked Cecily's story and how it tied in with Electra's story. Furthermore, it was interesting to see Kenja during World War II as it is a perspective that I have not read before.

Now we’re onto Electra’s story. Hers bounces back and forth between present day New York City and Kenya during WWII. She’s the youngest and didn’t seem to have the best relationship with her sisters. I’m glad to learn that there was hope for Electra to come into her own and find her voice.

Ja…

Book 6 of the Seven Sisters series
Electra D’Apliese is a successful, rich, beautiful model with an amazing lifestyle who appears to have everything but secretly she is battling with addiction fueled by grief and the pressure of her job. When a woman claiming to be related to her gets in contact it’s enough to send her over the edge. But once Stella starts to tell Electra her ancestors story Electra can’t deny their bond.
My thoughts: I really like this series but I found this one to be the least enjoyable. I found the pace to be quite slow and despite learning about her ancestors we don’t actually learn about Electra’s mum until right at the end of the book. I found myself checking how long I had left rather than just enjoying the journey.
Electra has a complete change of character within an extremely short time period which I found unrealistic and I also didn’t think she was very likeable so I wasn’t invested in her story. Despite not overly enjoying this book I am looking forward to finding out where the seventh book will lead.
