Another great series from Korman. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this one and both my children loved it too. We are all eagerly awaiting the next one and I will recommend this one often.

Middle school OBOB 2017. Eli, Tori, Malik and others live in Serenity, a perfect town where nobody lies, everyone has plenty of money, and life is wonderful ... Until they discover that their whole lives have been built on lies and they can trust no adults. First in a new series, well written and plotted as Korman does so well.

Serenity is a great place to live . . . until 13-year-old Eli has a bicycle accident and his best friend is shipped off to help his grandparents leaving Eli a strange note to figure out. Then the excitement begins to build and Eli and three friends find themselves running for their lives.

The first of what should be an exciting series for older grade school children.

Love this author, need book two yesterday! This is a great book to the start of a me series. Can't say much because it's best to just read this book with little knowledge of the plot/premise. Great writing, loved the characters, and enjoyed the mystery along with the characters trying to solve it.

Gordon Korman has taken his writing into a different direction. He has created a page turning mystery. Eli and his friends live in the idyllic Serenity Springs where everything is perfect. The population is very small. When Eli and his friend accidentally happen upon something on the outskirts of town and cross the town's borders to go see it, Eli gets terribly ill. This incident unleashes a mystery as Eli realizes that all the adults in town, including Eli's father, have been lying to them. Eli and his friends must try to solve the mystery as their lives depend upon it. This is the first book in a planned series and the book definitely leave the readers clamoring for the next installment.

Fun read! I found it a little more disturbing than my 11 year old son seemed to, but maybe that’s the benefit of innocence. Anyway, I’m interested to see what happens to these little clones.

Great premise with lots of twists. I enjoyed the multi-perspective narrative that clearly indicated which character was taking the narrative forward. Characters offer conflicting perspectives and are not always reliable. A great choice for middle graders craving a more challenging narrative structure. The writing is great and the action and inter-character dynamics will keep readers engaged.

A solid 3.5.
Good middle school thriller that will keep the pages turning, especially with more to come in this new series.
I've had a bit of a middle grade drought and was thrilled that I finally picked up one that didn't wind up as a disappointment, but Korman is a reliably entertaining author.
