After the disappointment of War Storm, I was unsure how I'd feel about Broken Throne. But, I greatly enjoyed all the short stories. My favorites are Coriane's story and Mare and Cal's story in the end. Every story helped shed a bit more light on the world of the Red Queen. It helped heal some of the wounds, understanding how Coriane lived and died, and get to know Evangaline on a deeper level. Honestly, I think she's my favorite. She lost just as much as Mare, maybe even more so. Her and Elane are made for each other. Maven's little story broke my heart and how Cal reacted and cried at his grave broke me even more. All the stories had a reason.

I'm pleasantly surprised. I haven't been crazy impressed by the earlier novellas/short stories in the Red Queen collection, but I think these really added to the story. I could have done without the chronological history sections though. It was great to hear something from Maven's POV, as short as it was.

Great conclusion of an epic series. Broken Throne fills the gaps and conclude the Red Queen series very nicely.

So boring, beginning of the book is just a history lesson that is not needed.

Such a good book and ending. Loved this series and loved how all the strings were tied up.
