I wanted so badly to love this book. But it just didn’t live up to my expectations following Penpal. The unnecessary use of a racial slur was the nail in the coffin for me. The plot felt predictable, the writing was good enough to build tension nicely but it still fell short overall for me and a lot of the plot felt like bulk rather than progressing the story

The novel started off very promising and I thoroughly enjoyed the elements of thriller and mystery throughout. However, ending wasn’t very satisfying and fell a bit flat. This story is far more depressing than scary.
