This is a super easy read but the main character will keep you wanting to turn the page! I don’t know much about the Portland scene but the author does a good job giving you a visual. While it is a true crime book, I thought I knew the murderer the entire time but I was wrong. You’ll certainly keep wanting to know more. I’m excited to continue reading the series.

Interesting backstories that make me curious about where the series will go. As noted by others, the story did drag a bit in the middle. Not the typical cozy, but enjoyable.

This book was cute, but the plot dragged a bit. I loved coffee and cozy mysteries, so this story was right up my alley. The characters were wonderful and the Portland setting was the icing on the cake for this story! I just wish there was a bit more suspense. Overall, not a bad little cozy mystery.

I really wanted to like this book. Although I enjoyed the campiness of the story, I didn’t much care for the writing style. I can’t quite figure out why the mother was brought into the story, as it felt like just an extra character thrown in. Since this is supposed to be book #1, maybe she will show up in the next book a little more?
I think this series has potential and I’m looking forward to seeing how this author grows in her craft.
