Would shorten blurb to 'man has midlife crisis between WW1 and WW2'. But yeah, I liked George, and learning about his life.

Unlike anything I had read before by Orwell. Funniest book I've read in years.

It's like reading free writing. I've realised I need more of a plot than it just being about the character.

Boring and depressing. Some interesting facts about life around 1900s.

I guess it is informative to drop into the mind of someone different than yourself sometimes - like a middle aged man waxing nostalgic about his youth….
But it was not an especially pleasant place to be, especially concerning the lovely descriptions of middle aged women.
Besides that - it was fine.
