A very moving  short story, and beautifully written. Keegan says so much with so little. This first person narration from the child surprised me at first but it worked so well. The story would have been nothing without it.
A very quick read (1-2 hours) but one that will stick with you.
Look forward to reading more from Keegan.

A stunning book. The grace is in the simplicity. It’s important to take this one slowly, like all Keegans work, to let it impact you. There’s a rhythm to her prose that draws you in quietly. Letting it linger will allow the work to go at its own pace.

Interesting look at a young Irish girl's summer in an old Isle town.

A foot wide and a mile deep, this is a beautiful novel about familial love outside of a biological family, the struggles of poverty as a child, and opening up to other possibilities after loss. I do not cry much since I have cried while reading a book, but this one broke the streak.
