I thought this was a well-researched, detailed accounting of this true story. I really enjoy learning about history, especially historical events that aren’t often written about. The narrator of the audiobook did a great job of injecting personality into the tale. Sometimes a bit dramatic, but that made it fun.

This book is a bit slow in the beginning and a little hard to read because of the horrors that the sailors experienced but overall a really interesting read and very well-written non-fiction.

Interesting read. Captivating and exciting. Felt very much like Killers of the Flower Moon. Enjoyed and would recommend!

Nonfiction that reads like fiction. I didn't want to stop reading.

While the ending was a bit anti-climatic - the story was good and I truly enjoyed the adventure of it all.

This is the book that kept on giving.

✅ well researched (that BIOGRAPHY?! my god!)
✅ adventure
✅ tales from multiple perspectives, including journals

It’s a bit lengthy, and sometimes felt discouraging, but I think it’s mostly due to what these men endured. What a story.

(That would be the perfect gift from someone who loves an adventure but not fantasy.)
