The story dragged a little bit, and the trial was just boring to me, but I loved the way the author told the story of life at sea. The shipwreck and its consequences were definitely the most interesting and if the Scorsese movie is happening I will be watching!

A bit dry but surprised at how none of them ( the few that survived)were charged once they managed to returned home. Loved all the pictures at the end of the book

This fascinating book reads more like a thriller than a historical account.

Thoroughly researched book on the shipwrecked Wager and the fate of the crew. Honestly a wonder that any of them survived. Informative and told in a very readable way.
Fans of The Terror will enjoy the Hickey-like murderers, giant monsters stalking the men, indigenous folk completely showing the brits spreading 'civilisation' up, scurvy, descent into cannibalism etc
