This was a quick read that was on parts very relatable and on others enlightening on things I haven#t experienced myself.

Very funny and super relatable. Similar to Hyperbole and a Half - with less writing and more pictures, also I found this book to be more focus on mental illness - depression, bi-polar, and eating disorders. Not only did she talk about these things she ACCURATELY describes living life with mental illness. I felt like I could relate to most of the pictures. I loved the drawings and I enjoyed the little bits of writing kinda summing up the chapters.
I did receive a free copy of this book from goodreads and im really glad that I was one of the people who won.
Thank you, Ruby. Thank you for your honesty and thank you for giving the world your art.

This was way darker than I expected. I thought it would be similar to Hyperbole and a half, but you can't compare them all that much. Still good though!

I read this book a couple of years ago and it helped me through quite a tough time! I can't give a great written review because, at the time of writing this, it's been a couple of years since I've read this book. However, I can say that it was a balance of comedy, visuals and it does get a bit r e a l sometimes. In the end, I remember almost crying and that it was a book that I really enjoyed.
I recommend giving it a read if you have some downtime.

I've been following Rubyetc online for quite a while now, and I'm glad I've finally read her book. Her comics have always been these weird, dark scribbles that feel like they've crawled directly out of my heart, but they're also hilarious given the often heavy subject matter.

Part memoir/Part journaling(?)/Part amazing pen art, this is a wonderful and heavy collection of Ruby Elliot's emotions, trials, and the overall painfulness that can arise from trying to exist normally. Ruby discusses depression, eating disorders, bipolar disorder, and social anxiety disorder and utilizes her pen persona to illustrate her struggles.
