I was so sad when I finished this book…not because it wasn’t good (it was awesome)…but because this has been one of my favorite series for so long and I hate to say goodbye. Whether this is truly the end is yet to be seen but as it stands now, Revenant is the ending book to both the Demonica and the Lords of Deliverance series.
Having a twin brother who is an angel was a shock to Revenant, but finding out he was one too was even more surprising. Raised in hell, tortured at every opportunity and now serving as Satan’s right hand man has never been easy, but it’s his life. It’s all he knows. Until his missing memories are restored and he’s reunited with his righteous brother Reaver. The anger he feels at Reaver’s heavenly upbringing clouds every interaction the two manage to have.
When Satan demands Revenant find someone in the medical field to help the being carrying Lucifer within her womb to be reborn, Revenant goes straight to the sassy Blaspheme. A woman who has been on his radar for quite some time. She reluctantly agrees to help him, if only to find out more about the situation to take back to her boss at Underworld General.
Blaspheme has been hiding what she is for her entire life. As a half breed she’d be hunted down and killed without a thought. Having a fallen angel around will not help her keep her origins under wraps. Her masking spell is quickly wearing off and when it finally dwindles Revenant will surely now what she is. Yet when he asks for her help (or rather demands it) she finds herself agreeing against her better judgement. With every look, every touch, Revenant finds himself conflicted with his growing emotions where Blaspheme is concerned. His deep seeded gray area morals tend to try to be better for her.
These books need to be read in order. I know that’s a tall request seeing as how there are 11 books across both series, but trust me you need the back story. There are a ton of cross characters and I fear a reader not familiar with the extensive world would be lost very quickly. Revenant has some amazing growth throughout the book as he works through his jealousy and guilt. I enjoyed the budding relationship not only with Blaspheme but with his brother as well. At times I actually liked the brothers relationship more than the love aspect but I think that was only because it had been longer in the making. Paranormal romance fans are sure to agree with me on this one…Revenant is wonderfully done, sexy and an excellent ending to a well-loved series!
I give Revenant by Larissa Ione 4.25 stars!

What a great end for a series. Rev is nothing and everything we thought and more. I loved that we finally learned Rev's full back story and that he got a happy but evil ending. I'm sad to see this series end but I enjoyed the ride the entire way!

OMG! Just OH. MY. GAWD.....
Revenant... Revenant.... REVENANT! Okay, I will admit to squeeling like a teenage girl at a boy band concert when I saw this pop up for request on Netgalley. I love and I mean LOVE Larissa Ione's Demonica series and I love, love, LOVE bad boys. Revenant is the absolute alpha of all bad boys, he is arrogant, emotionally tortured, and panty meltingly schmexy with a capital S, you know, basically the perfect trifecta of bad boyness. *fist pump* Yess.....
*I encourage you to make sure that you read Reaver prior to diving into this book, there are several things in it that tie in and lead into Revenant's story.
Revenant is a 5000 year old fallen angel (or so he thought). He has worked his way up the ranks in Hell to be Satan's right hand man and new evil watcher for the Horseman. He hates working for Satan but has no way of escaping his fate, or so he thinks... Several things have happened lately, he found out that he has a twin brother, he's not a fallen angel and he's been upgraded in strength and power to that of a Shadow Angel. There is no one more powerful than him in Hell besides Satan or Lucifer, In Heaven his angelic (Radiant) counterpart happens to be his brother who is ordered to keep him in check. Revenant is understandably bitter, he doesn't understand why his brother was sent to heaven by their mother as a baby while he was forced to remain in Hell with her enduring thousands of years of torture.
Blaspheme has been masquerading as a False Angel for her own safety. She is the daughter of an Angel and Fallen Angel and the children of this type of union are considered abominations and hunted down and killed. The spell hiding her true identity is failing and she is on a deadline to find another way to conceal herself from the hunters after her and her mother. I love Blaspheme! She is sassy and absolutely holds her own with Revenant. I loved seeing their relationship blossom, both pulled together by an intense attraction and both fighting to understand their feelings for each other. The chemistry and love scenes between Revenant and Blaspheme made for some major face fanning.
This book was a wild ride of emotions from start to finish, I was laughing one minute and then crying the next, irritated and then charmed. Fantastic wrap up to an electrifying series!
*I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review

I’m the former book I was surprised that revenant was reaver’s brother.
I began to wonder why he fell, just to find out he didn’t??
My poor baby
My review in this series may be all over the place but I only just found out how to properly use the app

So it's time to say goodbye to the Lords of Deliverance and Revenant is a fitting end. It's not my favourite of the series, I really don't think anything will beat Reaver but I did enjoy it.
I think the main problem with waiting a year between books is that I tend to build it up in my head and try and figure out what way it will go. This inevitably leads to disappointment but I can't stop myself from doing it. It didn't go the way I would have liked but I'm pleased with how it was all wrapped up.
Larrisa Ione does tease us with a little epilogue and what the future holds for this universe on her website that is worth checking out.
This series is not perfect, I actually have some pretty strong dislikes about a few things throughout, my biggest being the inevitable relationship issues, douche head behaviour and inability to listen of the characters I loved in previous books in the most recent one. In this case Reaver. I love Reaver. I knew he was going to be an asshat at some stage in this as that's what always happens but it annoyed me. It annoyed me because it's become like a formula but also because, well I love Reaver. I also love Than and he was a bit of a dick as well, he did have more reason though so I suppose I'll overlook that.
Anyway, these books, flaws and all are among my favourites. I love the world and the mishmash of demons and religion. It always makes for interesting reading and I really, really, really hope that it's not the last of this world.
Oh and I also now love Revenant (yay for brothers) and even though I posted this in my updates, I think it is worth putting in the review. This is what he looks like in my head:

Revenant doesn't have a beard in the book but 99% of the time my brain gives hot alpha males beards. It's a thing.

Revenant is reeling from having his memory restored after thousands of years. He goes from being all alone, causing havoc in hell, where he grew up and now lives, to having a family, a twin brother and a history that includes him being an angel, and not with the “fallen” before the title. His twin brother Reaver and he don’t exactly get along, there’s a ton of bad blood and misconceptions between them so while Revenant is now living with the full impact of his entire history, he’s still seen as the enemy by his family. He comes off as a snarky, sarcastic asshole but the rejection he’s still getting from Reaver, Heaven and the Horsemen cuts him deeper than he lets on. And then he meets Blaspheme and wants her. In bed. Against a wall. Doesn’t matter, he wants this female and sets out to get her.
Blas is hiding her own huge secret. She’s believed to be a false angel, but really she’s one of the most hunted people by both heaven and hell. The daughter of an angel and fallen angel, her kind is killed, no questions asked. She’s been living under a masking spell for years but it’s wearing off and she doesn’t know what do to. It’s during this time she meets Revenant and doesn’t give him the time of day at first, but he’s a pest and keeps showing up making it impossible for her to ignore him. Once she starts to learn more about Revenant, what’s he’s been through and what he’s currently going through, she starts to open her heart to him because fighting it was getting her nowhere.
This book confused me. Not in the story sense, I always love getting back into the Demonica world and seeing past characters come back to life on page. Story wise with the fight between heaven and hell and Revenant being right smack dab in the middle of it was interesting and the final battle is bloody, and an ultimate fight to end the threat to everyone we’ve come to know and love over the course of this series. Revenant, this guy had me cracking up. Some of the things he said and did, he’s ruthless but really only because he doesn’t trust easy and he’s never had anyone for thousands and thousands of years actually care about him. Blas does, she cares and she worries and it knocks Revenant for a loop and I liked seeing some good come into Revenant’s life. He starts and ends the book with snippy sarcasm, which I got a kick out of, but he’s actually living by books end, even though the final battle with Satan takes him right to edge and even over it.
Where I was a little let down was with Blas. I can’t put my finger on what it was about her that I didn’t connect with, but there was just something missing. I didn’t fall in love with her like I have other heroines in this series and I often found myself frustrated by either her actions or the things she’d say, especially to Revenant. Their relationship was good, but it felt almost like they fell into it. I needed more relationship between them and that might be where my disconnect with Blas came in.
While Revenant had both hit and misses for me, I would recommend this book if for no other reason than to get to know Revenant. His life has been miserably hard and seeing him start to have some good come into it was a fun, satisfying journey. I especially loved the scenes between Revenant and Reaver – brothers who needed to work through a lot to get to a better place. I’m not sure if this is a stand out in the series for me, but Ione always brings the humor which I enjoy and if you love a snarky tortured hero, look no further than Revenant.

Eventually also this series came to an end, and as a matter of fact even if I read the all, I was totally happy because right now I'm so bored by angels, demons and vampires and shifters etc, that I cannot take any more of them. It`s surely my fault but it seems that I have to shift to urban fantasy to read something worthy because paranormal romance has written already everything it has to be written.
