Meh...Not my favorite of Alcott's works. It's aimed more towards children though. A little odd, but I think kids would like it more than I did.

Starts out great and fanciful but ends fairly racist (but in a subtle "lol whut? O_o' " way). Would have been an amazing story without the self-sacrificing Black folks- I mean, gingerbread people.
I wanted a good fantasy tale ;_;
N.B.: Will also make you hungry with all the sweets and snacks mentioned. Would have been a 4 or 5 stars but then the wtf parts happened.
