Even being a long-term Friends fan I was surprised by the emotion this book brought out in me, right from the get go.

I listened to the audiobook which was narrated well, although some of the accent impersonations were a bit off for some of the quoted people.

I really enjoyed that she started this book with how this show had personally impacted the author and what it has meant for her. I certainly felt myself relating to her reasons for loving this show.

It has been discussed a lot, that for many reasons this show wouldn't be made now days, but that is true for most shows made before the 2000s. Whilst she does discuss some of these things in the book and has comments from people relating to those topics, it doesn't come across in a hateful or severely criticising way towards the show. I still very much enjoyed listening to this deep dive into a show that has been a comfort for so many reasons at so many times in my life. The backstage tidbits are fantastic for a fan like me even if some of them I already knew.

If you are a Friends fan or perhaps want to understand why this series didn't just appeal to so many people both in the past and the present but is apart of them, then I highly recommend this book.
