A one of a kind book with an unforgettable plot. It's somehow fun and the mystery is amazing without being super intense.

I'm a huge Sujata Massey fan. Her writing about Japan is pitch-perfect: the outsider view with the insider knowledge. The books set in Japan are a truly a joy to read, even more so if you've spent time in Japan.
This book was set in the US, so I think I enjoyed it less. The pace of the story also felt a bit rushed - I think some of this is just the mystery genre, but there were a few places where better plot development might have helped a little.
